Deer hunting in Fayette County has a county-specific bag limit

TPWD sets the deer bag limit for Fayette County separately from surrounding areas — hunters need to check the county-specific rules before the season.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) publishes deer regulations by county. For Fayette County, the combined season bag limit is 4 deer — no more than 2 bucks and no more than 2 antlerless. Of the 2 bucks, only one may have an inside antler spread of 13 inches or greater.

These rules can change between seasons. Always check the TPWD Outdoor Annual for the current year before you hunt. A valid Texas hunting license is required. The county regulations page at tpwd.texas.gov lists rules by county and season.
