Dove Hunting
Nueces County has strong dove hunting with a 15-bird daily bag limit
Nueces County sits in good dove country, with a combined bag limit of 15 white-winged, mourning, and white-tipped doves per day during the regular season.
The dove season opens in early September with special white-winged dove days on selected weekends at noon. A full regular season follows through late October, with a second split running into January. The daily bag limit is 15 doves combined, with no more than two white-tipped doves.
You need a Texas hunting license, a Migratory Game Bird Endorsement, and HIP Certification to hunt doves. Most dove hunting in Nueces County takes place on private land. Check the TPWD Outdoor Annual for the current season dates.
