Fishing at Eagle Mountain Lake in Tarrant County

Eagle Mountain Lake, just north of Fort Worth, covers more than 8,700 acres and supports white crappie, white bass, largemouth bass, and catfish.

The lake sits on the West Fork Trinity River in northwest Tarrant County. It was created in 1932. TPWD rates white crappie and white bass as excellent. Largemouth bass, spotted bass, channel catfish, and flathead catfish are also common in the lake.

Important: zebra mussels have invaded Eagle Mountain Lake. Zebra mussels are an invasive species that can spread to other lakes on wet boats and gear. You must clean, drain, and dry all boats and equipment before you leave the lake. It is against the law to transport zebra mussels. Free lake maps are available from the Tarrant Regional Water District at 817-237-8585. You also need a Texas fishing license.
