Falcon State Park: Camping and Day Use on the Rio Grande
Falcon State Park gives you a legal boat ramp, campsites, and shore fishing access to Falcon Reservoir right at the Texas-Mexico border.
The park is at 146 Park Rd 46, Falcon Heights, TX 78545. It opens daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Day-use entry costs $3 for adults; kids 12 and under get in free. Holiday rates are slightly higher. Campsites range from tent spots to full hook-ups with water and electricity.
A boat ramp and fish-cleaning station are on site. Shore fishing inside a state park does not require a fishing license. The park also has 2.8 miles of hiking trails and is on the Falcon Loop of the Great Texas Wildlife Trails. Texas Parks and Wildlife warns that the park often fills up — reserve ahead at texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com or call (512) 389-8900.
