Guadalupe Delta WMA offers public hunting and wildlife access near the coast

The Guadalupe Delta WMA spans about 7,400 acres across Victoria, Calhoun, and Refugio counties and is open for hunting, fishing, and wildlife viewing.

The Guadalupe Delta WMA sits in the river delta between the coast and the Coastal Bend. It has four units: Mission Lake, Hynes Bay, Guadalupe River, and San Antonio. Visitors 17 and older must carry an Annual Public Hunting (APH) permit or a Limited Public Use (LPU) permit to enter.

Hunting targets include waterfowl, migratory shorebirds, and alligators. Airboats are not allowed. During hunting season, only boats with electric motors can be used on the water. There are no restrooms, no camping, and no improved trails. Nearby towns with lodging include Victoria and Port Lavaca. Contact TPWD at 361-552-6637 for current rules and season dates.
