Tubing the Guadalupe River Runs Through Comal County
The Guadalupe River below Canyon Dam is a popular spot for tubing, kayaking, and whitewater paddling.
A 24-mile stretch of the Guadalupe River in Comal County is known for whitewater. The cold, clear water — released from Canyon Lake — draws tubers and paddlers from across the state, especially in summer.
Several outfitters near New Braunfels rent tubes and gear. The river is on private land in many places, so access points matter. The TPWD paddling trail starts at Guadalupe River State Park, which is northwest of New Braunfels. Check TPWD for paddling trail maps and current river conditions.
