The Guadalupe River runs through Victoria County on its way to the coast
The Guadalupe River flows through Victoria County into San Antonio Bay. It supports fishing and wildlife but also adds flood risk in low areas.
The Guadalupe River enters Victoria County from the northwest. It winds south toward the coast and empties into San Antonio Bay. The river is an important local feature. It supports catfish and bass fishing. It provides habitat for migratory birds. Just downstream, it forms the core of the Guadalupe Delta WMA.
The river also raises flood risk in low-lying areas, especially after heavy rain or tropical weather. River levels can rise quickly. If you are buying land near the Guadalupe or any of its branches, check FEMA flood maps for your parcel at msc.fema.gov before you buy.
