Two offices handle your property taxes in Hill County

Hill County has two separate offices for property taxes: one that values your property and one that collects your bill.

The Hill County Appraisal District (Hill CAD) sets the value of your property each year. It does not collect taxes. The Tax Assessor-Collector sends bills and takes payments. These are two different offices with two different addresses.

Hill CAD is at 1407 Abbott Ave in Hillsboro. The Tax Assessor-Collector office is at 126 S. Covington St. If you think your value is wrong, contact Hill CAD. If you have a question about your tax bill or payment, contact the tax office. Mixing them up can cause delays.
