Hubbard Creek Reservoir Sits Just West of Breckenridge
Hubbard Creek Reservoir is a 14,922-acre lake in Stephens County with public boat ramps and fishing for bass, crappie, and catfish.
Hubbard Creek Reservoir is located about five miles west of Breckenridge. Texas Parks and Wildlife rates white crappie fishing there as excellent and largemouth bass, catfish, and white bass as good. The lake has standing timber, brush, and aquatic vegetation that hold fish year-round. White crappie and white bass fishing in the creek arms is often productive in late fall and winter.
There are four public boat ramps on the lake, including a ramp usable at low water levels. You need a valid Texas fishing license to fish from a boat. The lake is owned by the West Central Texas Municipal Water District and also serves as a water supply for nearby cities. Check the TPWD lake page for current fishing reports and any special regulations before you go.
