Hunting & Fishing
You Need a State License to Hunt or Fish in Parmer County
Texas requires a hunting or fishing license for most outdoor take in Parmer County, and you can buy one online before you go.
A valid Texas hunting license is required of any person, of any age, to hunt any animal or bird in Parmer County. A fishing license is required to take fish, crayfish, or mussels. Landowners hunting or fishing on their own land may be exempt from some license requirements — check the TPWD rules to confirm.
Licenses are sold online at tpwd.texas.gov, by phone at 800-895-4248, and at many local retailers. Seasons and bag limits change each year, so check the current TPWD Outdoor Annual before you go. Playa lakes in this part of the Panhandle attract ducks and other migratory birds in season.
