Hunting Licenses Are Required in Dallam County

Any person hunting or fishing in Dallam County must have a valid Texas license from Texas Parks and Wildlife, with limited exceptions.

Texas law requires a hunting license to hunt any animal or bird in the state. This applies to residents and non-residents of any age, with narrow exceptions. A fishing license is required to fish public waters in Texas. You buy licenses from TPWD directly, by phone at 800-895-4248, or at sporting goods and retail stores.

For access to public land hunting beyond private ranches, TPWD sells an Annual Public Hunting (APH) permit. As of recent seasons, this permit costs $48 and allows hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking on state-managed public hunting lands. A cheaper Limited Public Use permit covers non-hunting activities. Check tpwd.texas.gov each season for current license fees and season dates, as they are set annually.
