Hunting License

What Hunting License Do You Need in Randall County?

Texas hunters need a valid hunting license plus any required endorsements before taking game in Randall County — there is no county-specific license.

Texas issues hunting licenses statewide through TPWD. A basic hunting license lets you take most game. For deer, you do not need an extra endorsement. But for pheasant, quail, and turkey, you need an Upland Game Bird Endorsement. For waterfowl, you need both a Federal Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp (Duck Stamp) and a TPWD Migratory Game Bird Endorsement. Dove hunters need a HIP (Harvest Information Program) certification.

Licenses and endorsements can be purchased at tpwd.texas.gov, by phone, or at many local retailers. Always carry your license while hunting. Rules and fees change each license year — check the current TPWD Outdoor Annual before you go out.
