Hunting in Reagan County is mostly on private land

There are no public Wildlife Management Areas in Reagan County, so hunters rely on leases and private landowner access.

Reagan County has no Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Wildlife Management Areas. That means there is no walk-in public land for hunting or wildlife viewing. Most hunting here happens through private leases arranged with landowners. Deer, quail, dove, and feral hogs are the common species in this part of West Texas.

TPWD does sell an Annual Public Hunting Permit for roughly $48, which covers access to over a million acres statewide — but none of that land is in Reagan County. If you want to hunt here, you need a landowner agreement or a paid lease. TPWD's website lists licensed hunting lease brokers and can help you find contacts. You still need a valid Texas hunting license and must follow all state season and bag limit rules. Check the TPWD Outdoor Annual for current regulations before heading out.
