Deer Hunting Rules for Tarrant County

Hunters in Tarrant County can take up to four deer per season — no more than two bucks and no more than two antlerless — across all seasons combined.

That bag limit comes directly from the TPWD Outdoor Annual for Tarrant County. You need a valid Texas hunting license before you go. Tarrant County is heavily built up, so public hunting land is hard to find. Most hunting in the county happens on private land with the owner's permission.

Rules can change from one year to the next. Always read the current TPWD Outdoor Annual before you hunt. It lists season dates, legal weapons, bag limits, and any new rule changes. The annual is free at tpwd.texas.gov. Hunting without the right license or over the bag limit can result in serious fines.
