LCRA rules limit certain land work near the Colorado River in Burnet County

LCRA's Highland Lakes Watershed Ordinance covers land-disturbing activity near the Colorado River in Burnet County.

The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) has a Watershed Ordinance. It covers parts of Burnet County along the Colorado River. The goal is to keep pollution out of the Highland Lakes. The ordinance applies to grading, land clearing, construction, and similar work in the covered area.

If you own land near the Colorado River in Burnet County, check this ordinance before you start any project. You may need a permit. Visit lcra.org or call LCRA directly. They have maps that show which land is covered and which activities need approval. Note that LCRA's rules are separate from county or city rules. You may need to follow both.
