Tax Rates
Gregg County has many taxing units — your bill depends on where you live
Your property tax bill in Gregg County is the sum of rates from every taxing unit whose boundary includes your address.
Gregg County has seven school districts, nine cities, Kilgore College, and three Emergency Services Districts — each with its own tax rate. A home in Longview city limits inside Longview ISD pays different rates than a home in unincorporated Gregg County inside Pine Tree ISD. The rates are set each fall and can change year to year.
Don't guess your tax bill from one rate. Use the Gregg CAD property search at esearch.gcad.org to look up your specific parcel and see exactly which taxing units apply. The Texas Comptroller's county directory shows all active units. Rates and values change annually, so check official sources for current numbers.
