Hunting Regulations

Pronghorn hunting in Reeves County requires a special permit

Pronghorn antelope can be hunted in Reeves County, but only with a permit issued through Texas Parks and Wildlife — not a standard hunting license.

Reeves County is in the Trans-Pecos region, where pronghorn antelope live on open rangelands. Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPWD) manages pronghorn through a permit-only system. Permits go to landowners or their agents in areas where there are huntable populations. You cannot hunt pronghorn here with just a general hunting license.

Deer, javelina, and other game species are also present in the county. Hunting seasons, bag limits, and licensing requirements change each year. Always check the current TPWD Outdoor Annual for Reeves County rules before you hunt. Some regulations differ by specific zone or county, so look up Reeves County directly on the TPWD site.
