Who Handles Property Taxes in La Salle County
Two separate offices handle property taxes here — one sets your value, one collects your bill.
The La Salle County Appraisal District sets the value of your property. It is located at 204 NE Lane St. in Cotulla. This office also processes homestead exemptions. A homestead exemption can lower the taxable value of your home, which lowers your tax bill. To qualify, the home must be your main residence.
A separate office — the Tax Assessor-Collector — sends out bills and collects payment. That office is at 101 Courthouse Square in Cotulla. These are two different offices, so make sure you contact the right one. For exemption questions or valuation disputes, go to the appraisal district. For payment questions, go to the tax office.
