A different office — the Tax Assessor-Collector — sends out your tax bill and collects payment. That office is at 220 S. Stephens St., also in Quitman.

If you think your property value is wrong, you file a protest with the appraisal district, not the tax office. Protest deadlines fall around May 1 each year — always check the WCAD website for the exact current deadline. The Texas Comptroller lists both offices in its county directory.
