Who Handles Your Property Tax in McMullen County

The McMullen County Appraisal District sets the value of your property. It is located at 207 Ash St. in Tilden. If you disagree with your value, you file a protest with the appraisal district. The homestead exemption application also goes here. The state requires school districts to give homeowners a $140,000 homestead exemption on their school taxes. Contact the appraisal district to file that form.
The Tax Assessor-Collector's office is a separate office. It collects the tax bill once the value is set. It is at 501 River St. in Tilden.
