The Upton County Appraisal District sets the value of your property. It is based in McCamey, not Rankin. Its address is 700 E. 3rd St., McCamey, TX 79752, phone 432-652-3221. The appraisal district also collects some local property taxes because the county tax assessor-collector does not collect property taxes here.

The county tax assessor-collector is a separate office in Rankin at 1000 N. Rankin St., phone 432-693-2572. Ten different taxing units — including Upton County, McCamey ISD, Rankin ISD, two cities, water districts, two hospital districts (McCamey HD and Rankin HD), and emergency services districts — all levy taxes on property in this county.
