Two different offices handle your property tax in Jasper County

The Jasper County Appraisal District sets your property's value; a separate Tax Assessor-Collector collects your bill — knowing which office to call saves you a wasted trip.

In Texas, valuing property and collecting taxes are two separate jobs. The Jasper County Appraisal District (JCAD) sets the value of your property each January 1. Taxing units — such as the county, school district, and city — set their own rates. The Tax Assessor-Collector then applies those rates and sends your bill.

JCAD is at 137 N. Main St., Jasper, TX 75951 (phone: 409-384-2544, website: jaspercad.org). Contact JCAD if your property value seems wrong, or if you need to file or update an exemption. Contact the Tax Assessor-Collector at 271 E. Lamar St., Jasper (phone: 409-384-6896) to pay your bill or handle vehicle registration. Tax bills are typically mailed around October 1 and are due by January 31 of the next year. Check JCAD's website for current deadlines, since rules can change.
