Two offices handle property taxes in Mills County

Mills County splits property tax duties between two offices, so you need to know which one to contact.

The Mills Central Appraisal District sets the value of your property. It is at 901 W. 6th St. in Goldthwaite. This office also handles exemptions like the homestead exemption. You can reach them at 325-648-2253 or at millscad.org.

A separate office — the Mills County Tax Assessor-Collector — handles vehicle registration and other county services, but does NOT collect property taxes. If you have a tax bill question, go to the appraisal district, not the tax office. Check the Texas Comptroller's county directory to confirm which office handles what.
