Two Offices Handle Your Property Tax in Red River County

Two separate offices handle property taxes here — one sets the value, one collects the bill.

The Red River County Appraisal District sets the taxable value of every property in the county. It is at 203 W. Washington St. in Clarksville. You file homestead and other exemptions here. The chief appraiser runs the office.

A separate office — the Tax Assessor-Collector — sends out the actual tax bills and takes your payment. That office is at 200 N. Walnut St. in Clarksville. If you think your value is wrong, you protest with the appraisal district, not the tax office. Check the Texas Comptroller's county directory to confirm contact information, since phone numbers and personnel can change.
