Public Hunting Access
An annual TPWD permit opens public hunting lands
A TPWD Annual Public Hunting Permit lets you hunt, fish, camp, and hike on over a million acres of public land across Texas, including areas in the Navarro County region.
Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPWD) sells an Annual Public Hunting (APH) Permit. It covers state-managed hunting areas across Texas. At the time of this writing, the APH Permit cost $48. Prices can change, so check the TPWD website before you buy.
The permit covers land owned or leased by TPWD. It also covers land from cooperating private landowners. Want to fish, hike, bird watch, or ride horses on those same lands without hunting? You need the Limited Public Use Permit instead. At the time of this writing, that permit cost $12.
Check the TPWD public hunting map each year. It shows which areas are open near Navarro County. Areas can change from year to year.
