Public Hunting Access
A public hunting permit unlocks state lands for hunting and hiking
Texas Parks and Wildlife sells Annual Public Hunting permits that let you access state WMAs like Guadalupe Delta for hunting, fishing, and wildlife viewing.
If you want to hunt or use the Guadalupe Delta WMA near Victoria, you need either an Annual Public Hunting (APH) permit or a Limited Public Use (LPU) permit from TPWD. These are separate from your hunting license.
The APH permit covers most WMAs across the state for the full hunting year. The LPU permit is cheaper and covers non-consumptive uses like hiking and wildlife viewing. Buy both types at tpwd.texas.gov. Check the site for current prices and the list of activities each permit covers.
