State Parks Near Fort Worth and Tarrant County
Tarrant County has no state park within its borders, but several TPWD parks are within an hour's drive of Fort Worth.
There is no state park inside Tarrant County, but several are close by. Nearby options include Cleburne State Park (southwest of Fort Worth), Lake Mineral Wells State Park (west of Fort Worth), Cedar Hill State Park (south of Dallas), and Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose.
Each park has its own entrance fee and reservation system. Popular parks fill up fast on weekends and holidays. Book ahead on the TPWD website at tpwd.texas.gov. Day passes are available at most parks without a reservation. Check the website before you go to confirm hours and any temporary closures.
