The Tarrant County Tax Office Collects Property Taxes and Handles Vehicle Titles
The Tarrant County Tax Assessor-Collector is a separate office from TAD — it handles tax bills, vehicle registration, and titles, not appraisals.
The Tax Assessor-Collector's office and the Tarrant Appraisal District (TAD) are two different offices. If you want to pay a property tax bill, renew your car registration, or transfer a vehicle title, go to the Tax Assessor-Collector. There are eight Tax Office locations across Tarrant County.
For property tax bill questions, call 817-884-1100 or email taxoffice@tarrantcountytx.gov. For questions about your property's appraised value or an exemption, contact TAD at 817-284-0024. Knowing which office to call first saves you time and a wasted trip.
