Multiple taxing entities bill Floyd County property owners

When you own property in Floyd County, multiple entities can each add a line to your tax bill. These include Floyd County itself, the City of Floydada or City of Lockney if you are inside city limits, either the Floydada ISD or Lockney ISD school district, and the High Plains Underground Water Conservation District No. 1.

There are also two hospital districts — Lockney General HD and Caprock HD — plus the Mackenzie Municipal Water Authority. Each sets its own rate. Your total tax bill is the sum of all rates that apply to your parcel. Rates change each year. Always check the appraisal district or Comptroller's county directory for current rates before budgeting.
