TEXAS Outdoor Musical Runs Summers in Palo Duro Canyon
A professional outdoor musical drama about Panhandle history runs Tuesday through Sunday each summer at the Pioneer Amphitheater inside Palo Duro Canyon State Park.
The Pioneer Amphitheater inside Palo Duro Canyon State Park hosts a summer show called TEXAS. The musical drama tells the story of the people who settled the Panhandle. It plays against the real canyon walls as a backdrop. It runs Tuesday through Sunday on summer evenings. The Texas Panhandle Heritage Foundation produces the show.
The amphitheater is inside the state park. Visitors pay the park day-use fee plus a separate ticket for the show. Check the TPWD park page or the Texas Panhandle Heritage Foundation for current season dates and ticket prices. Both can change from year to year.
