Two Offices Handle Your Property Tax in Cameron County
The Cameron Appraisal District sets your home's value; the Cameron County Tax Office sends the bill and collects the money.
These are two separate offices. The Cameron Appraisal District (CAD) decides what your property is worth each year. The Cameron County Tax Assessor-Collector then uses that value to figure your tax bill and collects the payment.
If you think your value is too high, you protest with the CAD, not the tax office. If you need to pay your bill or register a vehicle, you go to the tax office. There are ten tax office locations across the county. You can also pay online at camerontax.go2gov.net.
