Alazan Bayou WMA Offers Public Hunting in Southern Nacogdoches County
This 2,063-acre wildlife management area along the Angelina River is open to hunting, fishing, and camping with a TPWD permit.
Alazan Bayou WMA covers 2,063 acres in southern Nacogdoches County near the Angelina River. TPWD bought the land in 1991 to protect mature bottomland hardwood forest. The area floods seasonally from mid-winter through early spring. You can hunt, fish, camp, hike, and ride horses here.
To hunt, you need a TPWD Annual Public Hunting (APH) permit, which costs $48 per year. This permit also opens access to more than a million acres of public hunting land across Texas. Some special-permit hunts may be offered separately. There are no restroom facilities on site, and you must bring your own water. The address is 8096 FM 2782, Nacogdoches.
