An Annual Permit Opens Up Public Hunting Land
Texas Parks and Wildlife sells an Annual Public Hunting Permit that gives access to over a million acres of public and leased land across the state.
Most hunting land in Lubbock County is private. But the Texas Parks and Wildlife Annual Public Hunting Permit gives access to state-owned and leased hunting areas statewide, including dove and small game areas. The permit costs much less than a private lease.
Access includes over 180 hunting areas including wildlife management areas and private lands leased from cooperating landowners. Not all areas are in every county, so check the TPWD public hunting map for areas near Lubbock. You still need the right hunting license and any required stamps.
