Angelina County Home & Property

ANRA stands for the Angelina and Neches River Authority. The state created it. It is based in Lufkin and handles water across a 17-county area in the Neches River Basin.

In Angelina County, ANRA runs water and wastewater systems. It also manages the Angelina County Fresh Water Supply District #1. That district serves people north of the City of Lufkin.

If your land is outside a city, you may not know if public water reaches you. Contact ANRA to find out. Go to anra.org or call their Lufkin office. If public water is not available, a private well is usually the next option. ANRA's OSSF program handles septic permits for that situation.

ANRA also watches water quality in the Neches River Basin and helps with long-range water planning for the region.
