Two Offices Handle Property Taxes in Dimmit County

Dimmit County has a separate appraisal district and tax office, so you may deal with both when you buy or own property.

The Dimmit County Appraisal District sets the value of your property. It is at 203 W. Houston St. in Carrizo Springs. The phone is 830-876-3420 and the website is dimmit-cad.org. Seven taxing units use these values, including the county, Carrizo Springs ISD, and the cities of Asherton, Big Wells, and Carrizo Springs.

A separate Tax Assessor-Collector office handles billing and payments. It is at 212 N. 4th St. in Carrizo Springs, phone 830-876-9904. If you think your property is overvalued, you protest with the appraisal district, not the tax office. Check the Texas Comptroller county directory to confirm current contact info.
