Brushy Creek Is Both a Flood Risk and a Water Supply Source
The Brushy Creek watershed in central and eastern Williamson County is managed by the Upper Brushy Creek Water Control and Improvement District, which oversees flood control.
Brushy Creek flows through heavily populated parts of Williamson County, including Round Rock, Cedar Park, and Leander. The Upper Brushy Creek Water Control and Improvement District (WCID) manages flood control in this watershed. The WCID partnered with the Texas Water Development Board on the 2019 FEMA flood map update for the Brushy Creek area.
Homes near Brushy Creek and its tributaries face real flash flood risk. Check whether a property you are considering is within the 100-year floodplain before buying. Current flood maps are available at msc.fema.gov or the Williamson County GIS page.
