Burn Bans

Outdoor burning in Kendall County can be banned without notice

Kendall County issues burn bans when fire danger is high — violating a burn ban can result in fines, and conditions can change quickly.

The Kendall County Judge can issue a burn ban at any time when fire conditions are dangerous. During a burn ban, you cannot light outdoor fires including brush piles, debris, or campfires in unincorporated areas. Bans can go into effect quickly and stay in place for weeks.

Check the current burn ban status before you burn anything outdoors. The county posts alerts on its website at kendallcountytx.gov. You can also sign up for county alerts. Separate rules may apply inside city limits in Boerne or Fair Oaks Ranch — check with those cities directly.
