Cedar Creek Islands WMA gives public outdoor access

Cedar Creek Islands Wildlife Management Area on Cedar Creek Reservoir provides public fishing and wildlife watching access in Henderson County.

The Cedar Creek Islands Wildlife Management Area (WMA) sits on Cedar Creek Reservoir. Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPWD) manages it. The WMA is open to the public for fishing and wildlife viewing.

A WMA is land the state manages for wildlife. It is not the same as a state park. WMAs in Texas often have their own rules and permit requirements. You may need a Limited Public Use Permit to enter certain areas during certain seasons. Permits and rules can change each year. Check the TPWD WMA page before you go to make sure you have what you need.
