Cedar Creek Reservoir offers good fishing along Kaufman County's eastern edge
Cedar Creek Reservoir covers more than 32,000 acres across Henderson and Kaufman counties and is rated excellent for catfish and white and hybrid striped bass.
Cedar Creek Reservoir was created in 1965 and spans about 32,623 acres, reaching a maximum depth of 53 feet. It sits along the Kaufman–Henderson county line. The lake supports largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, white bass, and hybrid striped bass. TPWD rates catfish and white and hybrid striped bass as excellent, and largemouth bass as good. All species are managed under statewide regulations — no special lake-specific rules apply.
Public boat ramps are available on the reservoir. Check the TPWD access page for current ramp locations and conditions. A valid Texas fishing license is required to fish from a boat. You can fish from shore in a Texas state park without a license, but Cedar Creek Reservoir itself is not a state park.
