Deer Bag Limits in Medina County Depend on Which Side of US 90 You Hunt

US 90 divides Medina County into two deer hunting zones with different buck limits and season-end dates.

US Highway 90 runs east-west through Medina County and splits it into two deer zones. North of US 90, hunters can take up to 5 deer with no more than 2 bucks. South of US 90, the limit is still 5 deer but allows up to 3 bucks. The south zone also has a slightly longer season.

The county also has populations of white-tailed deer, wild turkey, dove, quail, and javelina. Most hunting is on private land through lease agreements. Season dates and bag limits are set annually by TPWD — always confirm the current year's rules in the Outdoor Annual before you hunt.
