Hunting Regulations
Deer hunting in Caldwell County has antler restrictions
Caldwell County has antler restrictions for white-tailed deer, limiting hunters to specific buck sizes and requiring mandatory harvest reporting.
The current bag limit is four deer per season, with no more than two bucks. Only one of those bucks can have an inside antler spread of 13 inches or more. A legal buck must have at least one unbranched antler OR an inside spread of 13 inches or greater.
Antlerless deer may be taken only during specific dates and with the right tag. After harvesting an antlerless deer, you must report it within 24 hours through the Texas Hunt and Fish app or online at tpwd.texas.gov. Seasons and rules can change each year, so always check the current Outdoor Annual.
