Kaufman County is in the North Zone for white-tailed deer — check TPWD for current season dates and the county's buck antler rule before you hunt.
White-tailed deer hunting in Kaufman County runs under the North Zone calendar. For the 2025-2026 season, archery opened in late September, and general season ran from November through early January. The bag limit is four deer per season — no more than two bucks and no more than two antlerless. Only one buck may have an inside spread of 13 inches or greater.
Dove hunting follows the Central Zone calendar. Duck hunting runs under the North Zone schedule and requires a federal duck stamp in addition to a Texas hunting license and Migratory Game Bird Endorsement. Seasons, dates, and limits change each year. Always verify current rules at the TPWD Outdoor Annual or the county-specific regulations page before hunting.
