Hunting
Deer hunting in Uvalde County follows a split-zone system
U.S. Highway 90 divides Uvalde County into two deer hunting zones with different bag limits and season lengths.
North of U.S. 90, the bag limit is 5 deer with no more than 2 bucks. South of U.S. 90, it is 5 deer with no more than 3 bucks. The general season typically runs from early November into January, with an archery season starting in late September. Season dates and bag limits can change year to year.
You need a valid Texas hunting license and an Archery Endorsement for bow hunting. Wild turkey and dove seasons also apply in the county, with their own license endorsements required. Always verify current rules in the TPWD Outdoor Annual before you go — seasons and limits are set annually.
