Hunting Seasons
Dove and turkey hunting are both available in Caldwell County
Caldwell County hunters can pursue mourning and white-winged dove in fall, and spring turkey in April, all subject to current TPWD regulations.
Dove season in Caldwell County runs from September through January. There are special early white-wing days in early September. The season is split into segments, so check the exact dates each year. The daily bag limit is 15 birds total, counting mourning, white-winged, and white-tipped doves together — but no more than 2 of those 15 may be white-tipped doves.
Spring turkey season opens April 1 through April 30. Only gobblers may be taken during the spring season. The bag limit is one turkey per hunter for the spring season. The statewide annual limit is four turkeys across all counties combined, but only one may come from the East Zone. Always check the current TPWD Outdoor Annual for exact dates and rules before you go out.
