Eisenhower State Park Sits on Lake Texoma's Rocky Northern Shore
Eisenhower State Park near Denison offers camping, fishing, hiking, and water access on Lake Texoma, about an hour north of Dallas.
The park has more than four miles of trails, two fishing piers, a sandy swimming cove, and a boat ramp. Campsites range from tent pads to RV pull-through spots. There is also a cabin called Ike's Cabin and screened shelters if you want a roof without a tent.
Shore fishing at the park does not require a fishing license according to TPWD's current information, but check before you go as rules can change. The park reaches capacity on busy weekends, so reservations are strongly recommended. Entry fee is $5 for adults; children 12 and under are free. Fees can change, so verify on the TPWD website.
