Licenses
You Need a State License to Hunt or Fish in Real County
Texas requires a valid state hunting or fishing license for most outdoor activities in Real County, and you can buy one online through Texas Parks and Wildlife.
Real County has no city or county hunting or fishing license. The rules come from the state. A valid Texas fishing license is required to fish in public waters. A hunting license is required to hunt on any land in Texas — even private land you have permission to use. Licenses are issued by Texas Parks and Wildlife.
You can buy a license online at tpwd.texas.gov, at local sporting goods stores, or at any TPWD-authorized retailer. Seasons, bag limits, and endorsement requirements change each year. Always check the current Outdoor Annual at tpwd.texas.gov before you go out. Hunting on private land without the landowner's permission is a separate legal issue and does not replace a license.
