Hunting License
You need a Texas hunting license to hunt in Glasscock County
Almost everyone who hunts in Texas needs a license, even on private land — there are few exceptions.
Texas law requires a hunting license for anyone hunting game birds or animals in the state. This applies on private land, not just public land. A resident hunting license costs around $25. Seniors 65 and older and hunters under 17 pay a lower fee. Nonresidents pay a much higher rate. Licenses are valid from the purchase date through August 31 each year.
Glasscock County is mostly private land, so public hunting access is limited. Deer, dove, and quail are common game in this part of West Texas. Check the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) website for current season dates, bag limits, and any special rules for this county before you hunt. License fees and seasons are set each year and can change.
