Hunting License
You need a Texas hunting license before you hunt here
Anyone hunting deer, turkey, or dove in Uvalde County must have a valid Texas hunting license plus any required endorsements.
A basic Texas hunting license is required for deer, turkey, and dove. For bow hunting, you also need an Archery Endorsement. For turkey and quail, you need an Upland Game Bird Endorsement. For migratory birds like dove, duck, or geese, you need both a Texas migratory game bird endorsement and a federal duck stamp.
Hunting licenses and endorsements are sold by TPWD. You can buy them online at tpwd.texas.gov or at a licensed retailer. Most hunting in Uvalde County is on private land, so you also need the landowner's written permission. Penalties for hunting without a license can be significant.
