Hunting in Presidio County: Key Rules

Presidio County falls in the Trans-Pecos region for mule deer and has special permit-only pronghorn hunts.

Presidio County is Trans-Pecos country, so some seasons differ from the rest of Texas. Mule deer have a short general season in late November and early December. The bag limit is one buck per year across all seasons combined. White-tailed deer seasons also apply here, with a four-deer limit (no more than two bucks).

Pronghorn antelope hunting is by permit only and permits go to landowners in areas with huntable populations. Javelina can be taken year-round with a limit of two per license year. Check the TPWD Outdoor Annual for Presidio County each season — seasons and limits are set annually and can change.
