Lake Bob Sandlin Touches Camp County — and Offers Good Fishing

Lake Bob Sandlin spans Titus, Camp, and Franklin counties, and the state park on the lake's north shore is just outside Pittsburg.

Lake Bob Sandlin is a 9,004-acre reservoir on Big Cypress Creek. It sits on the border of Titus, Camp, and Franklin counties, near Pittsburg. Anglers catch largemouth bass, spotted bass, crappie, catfish, and white bass. TPWD manages the fishery under statewide regulations — no special local rules apply. TPWD also stocks rainbow trout here in winter.

Lake Bob Sandlin State Park is at 341 State Park Rd. 2117, Pittsburg, TX 75686. The park has a boat ramp, a lighted fishing pier (no license needed to fish from the pier), and a fish cleaning station. There are 75 campsites with water and electricity, plus primitive sites, cabins, and screened shelters. Hiking and biking trails cover 3.3 miles. Day-use entry is $5 for adults; children 12 and under are free. Check TPWD for current fees and reservation availability.
